“Bye baby.”

I closed the door once Karlos was in his car. He was going to their warehouse and then he had some work to do at the gym. Tiff came and picked up Kaylee so it was just me and Kahyl today.

“Aww don’t cry mommy princess. Daddy will be back,” I kissed her wet face because she was balling. Karlos held her all damn day and spoiled Kaylee in between.

They had his ass wrapped and this was only the beginning. My baby was six months today so I had her on this yellow and pink onesie that said ‘Sixth Month Old Princess’ on it. I had it made at the mall. Since we were being lazy today I let her wear it. Her little chubby legs were out and I had her pink diamond lily earrings in her ear. She looked so gorgeous. It took me a few minutes to calm her down. Now I had her in her crown shape baby ball pit. I had the TV on The Chipmunks cartoon. I don’t know why but their voices grabbed Kahyl’s attention. I was sitting on the couch going over some editing.

I was so excited to be editing Domonique’s new book. After that bullshit, Jody pulled I met with him that Sunday. I have never had to talk to an author or anyone who works for me for that matter about what Jody did. It was so awkward when I saw Dominique. He assumed I called him in so he could sign the rest of his contract. I explained to him that I found out what Jody did. After I apologize for it I assured him that Royal Publishing does not in any way build its name in that matter. I told him for what happened and me knowing his decision for picking me to sign with, I didn’t think it was a good idea for him to sign with us.

Domonique shocked me by begging me to sign him. He was going to choose me anyways. He was honest and told me he was a man first. Jody was sexy to him so he caught what she threw him. He assured me he didn’t and wouldn’t tell anyone about it. Jody was a piece of ass and didn’t influence him at all in his decision. His words, not mine. Now I was going over the final touches of his book and it was so good. Young, fresh, sexy and a page-turner from beginning to the end. I finished the last pages and sent it to the editor. Kahyl was still chilling so I went to the kitchen and made me a salad and grabbed a bottle for my baby.

“Hey, Scarlett boo. What’s going on?” I picked up my phone with a mouth full of salad.

“Oh my God whatever you are eating sounds so good. But look, I need to ask you something.”

I swallowed my food and drunk some of my cold tea so I could talk.

“I’m all ears.”

“Have you read Jody’s book yet? The one that didn’t sell.
